The Client
My Covered Life is a lifestyle and e-commerce brand that produces Covered, a spiritual-based, 6-month planner, and sells journaling accessories. Jasmine Coicou, the CEO of My Covered Life, could be considered a social media influencer and self-marketing expert, quickly amassing a large following for the brand as well as her personal social media accounts.
The Approach
I began my work by transforming Jasmine's vision and rough outline into a gorgeous, polished planner with cohesive branding elements. Once the look and feel of the brand and flagship product were solidified, I created a functional website prototype for Jasmine to interact with. This allowed us to make rapid changes to the design, as well as to help speed up the development process. I also created a digital library for her brand, including many of the required assets for the website, to be shared across the team. During this process, I worked closely with the web developer to ensure all of my proposed designs and features were possible to implement. With her approval, the prototype was handed off to the developer to be built out.
Jasmine wanted an immersive experience for her customers, so we collaborated with her to create a thoughtful, branded unboxing experience for the customer. The unboxing materials also included a discount code to be used on future purchases, encouraging customers to return and slowly building a loyal customer base. After a very successful first print, we began working on the next version and a smaller companion journal using customer feedback to ensure we were designing the best products possible. Jasmine continues to sell out of her planners on a regular basis, so I'd say we hit it out of the park!
