The Client
Tinsley Creative is an award-winning Brand Management and Marketing Agency in Lakeland, FL. They create, implement, and manage high-powered campaign strategies that drive brands forward. Tinsley deftly handles the marketing efforts for internationally-recognized brands as well as for boutique companies right down the road. The quality of work and effort put forth doesn't change from client to client, because the agency-client relationship is the cornerstone of any successful marketing agency. Tinsley Creative figured this out long ago and, as a result, has many client relationships spanning decades.
The Approach
Tinsley Creative was ready to refresh its brand and create a more cohesive look across its social media channels. They didn't want to be the cobbler's kids running around shoeless. This was the perfect opportunity to utilize my love of illustration and achieve a unique style to set Tinsley Creative apart from its competitors.
The first step in the brand refresh was updating the logo. While I was fond of the previous logo, there were some minor issues I wanted to correct, such as an unbalanced feel created by the extended crossbar of the "T" and the descender of the "y". I brought consistency to the logo by creating a baseline and x-height for the lowercase letters to reside within, which offered the perfect little spot for "Creative" to be nestled underneath. I chose a sans-serif typeface, set in all-caps, to increase the legibility of the logo when used in smaller applications. The font paired perfectly with the customized script, creating a sense of structure and balance that works in harmony with the free-flowing nature of cursive writing.
Once the branding elements were finalized, I began working on an illustrative style for the blog posts and social media graphics. This allowed Tinsley's personality to shine through more than when stock elements were used alone.
