About me

I’m an endlessly curious, award-winning, remote UX designer, illustrator, and brand developer who delivers creative and engaging solutions across product, brand identity, and print/digital design.

I have 8+ years of professional experience working in-house and in fast-paced agency environments, fostering growth for boat manufacturers, banks, nonprofits, start-ups, and everything in between. While working remotely around the country, I’ve gained invaluable insights and empathy by living among different people and unique cultures. This helped shape my mission to positively influence people’s habits through socially-responsible, human-centered design. We all want to do better and be better, and I believe intentional design holds the key to that growth.

Designer by morning, beach bum by afternoon. On any given day you might find me at my favorite surf spot, hiking the nearest trail, cooking veggie tacos, lifting weights, or just relaxing at home.

Life Experiences

  • Walked away from a gnarly downhill longboarding accident with most of my memory intact. Speed wobbles are no joke (except with friends who heard me yell my famous, almost-last words, "SPEEEED WOBBLESSSS!!!").
  • Studied Air Traffic Control in the USAF.
  • A clairvoyant woman once told me I would travel the country on a motorcycle. A few years later I was the top-performing salesperson at an Indian Motorcycle dealership. Coincidence? You be the judge.
  • Taught myself basic Spanish and traveled through Cuba for a week (someone even asked if I was Dominican (I'm not)).
  • Started working remotely in 2019.

Achievements

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work on exciting campaigns for amazing clients across the country. Even more fortunately, some people on panels thought my work was better than some other peoples’ work and decided to give me official bragging rights. It’s a strange concept when you really think about it, but I digress.

In the past decade, as a student and while working as a graphic designer, illustrator, and brand developer, I have won a small “boatload” of awards. Most recently, at the 2021 Polk County AAF Addy Awards I received a gold Addy for my work with Boat Box, creating comprehensive labels and packaging for their line of boat maintenance products. I was also awarded two silver Addys for my work creating digital and print campaigns for Scout Boats and World Cat Boats.

I strive to always make work I am proud of, no matter the scope of the project. Winning awards is not why I do what I do, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
